2014 Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo comes to an end…

The 2014 Cowboy Capital PRCA Rodeo held in Stephenville, Texas was a huge success! Through the year there are 79 PRCA Rodeos held within the State of Texas and officially the Cowboy Capital PRCA Rodeo is the LARGEST three-day one-head rodeo in the state! We are also proud to announce that the 2014 payout was the 12th largest in the state, behind some of the largest PRCA Rodeos in the nation including San Antonio, Fort Worth, Austin and San Angelo!

The official Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo poster!

Artist Blu Dornan, one of our very own Stephenville residents created this awesome piece to showcase this years PRCA rodeo and all the Rodeo Heritage events. Not only is he very talented with pencils, brushes, & pens he’s a cowboy who lives the western lifestyle on a daily basis. We couldn’t have a better person to put this all together. Thanks for another fantastic job Blu!

If your business would like a poster to display, please comment or message and I’ll try and get you one ASAP.

2014 Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo Steer Roping

This past Saturday morning a little over 60 of the best steer ropers in the world came to Lone Star Arena to compete in the last roping of the year. There were seasoned veterans, rookies, legends, and weekend warriors competing in what is hoped to be a perennial event in the sport. The race for the top 15 was super tight and any check won by a cowboy would literally make or break his NFSR future. Out of all the events at this years rodeo, the steer ropers were roping for the most added money, as well as a trophy rifle and buckle.

The National Finals Steer Roping is in November and has made the move to Kansas this year. The 2014 season officially ends on Tuesday, September 30, so we’ll let the smart guys in Colorado crunch numbers to figure the official top 15. Thanks for making a great roping. See y’all next year!
